CHIROPRACTIC CARE FOR NECK PAIN

Get Relief From Your Back Pain Today

The neck is referred to as the cervical spine, containing several small vertebrae beginning at the base of the skull.

The neck can move in nearly every direction, despite fully supporting the weight of your head (which can weigh up to twelve pounds!).  What is great about all of that flexibility is that it allows you to interact and experience the world.  So much of our senses are based out of our head and face that we need and thrive upon that flexibility.  With that though, activities such as sitting for extended periods, falls, repetitive movements, and aging can create pain and discomfort in the neck.

It is normal for your body to have some aches and pains, but what is most important is determining what some of the potential causes might be causing your discomfort and for the majority of cases it boils down to moving more and moving better!  Come see us at Live LOUD to not only feel better but gain more confidence and understanding around why your neck might be causing you pain.

Chiropractic care for neck pain performed by specialists at LIVE LOUD is used to improve not only cervical spine (neck) function and mobility but the overall physical capacity of your body to keep you healthy from head to toe. If you have neck pain and want an all-natural, non-invasive, drug-free solution (beyond the adjustment), come and see us!

After several months of shoulder and neck pain my wife recommend I visit Antonio.  After reviewing my injury history of rotator cuff (work-outs) and neck (car accident) Antonio prescribed a working regimen to address increased range of motion and strengthening along with soft tissue work.

After the past 10 months working with Antonio I’m pain free and feeling much stronger. I’m no longer self-limiting my activities to avoid stressing my shoulder or neck and am enjoying all my physical activities as well as carrying my kids around without worry.

Incredible experience! I’m young and active but when I had acute neck pain I wasn’t sure what chiropractics could do for me. Dr. Antonio was awesome, explained everything in a good way and provided excellent care. Thanks!

What Are the Signs and Symptoms of Neck Pain?

There are many causes of neck pain and stiffness, but you should be mindful and seek medical care if you begin experiencing any numbness, a loss of strength in your arms and/or hands, or shooting pains down your shoulders and into your arms.

If you’re noticing reduced mobility, stiffness, muscle spasms, or headaches, this is a good indicator you could be in need of chiropractic-centered care.

What Are the Common Causes of Neck Pain?

There are many factors that contribute to pain in the neck. And while not all should be cause for worry, your pain shouldn’t be ignored. Here at LIVE LOUD, we take your neck pain seriously so you can get healthy and back to adventuring! We always start with a thorough assessment of your symptoms and provide a diagnosis before suggesting treatment. Below are some of the most common causes of neck pain we see in the clinic. Whatever the root cause is, LIVE LOUD Chiropractic Clinicians are fully equipped to help you get relief and figure out what caused the pain in the first place so you can prevent this from happening again.

Whiplash/Muscle Strains/Joint Sprains

A forced, sudden movement of the neck in one direction with a resulting “snap-back” in the opposite direction is known as “whiplash.” This movement can force the muscles and surrounding supportive tissues to react by contracting, causing muscle fatigue, which can lead to painful stiffness if not properly cared for. A common cause for whiplash is motor vehicle accidents. We also see these sprain/strain pain types with certain forms of working out or training or based on your adventurous lifestyles.

Nerve Compression/Pinched Nerve

Just like the lower back the cervical spine or neck can sustain disc injuries that may or may not lead to a compressed nerve.  Oftentimes individuals will come in when a locked or stuck neck and indicate they have a pinched nerve which may or may not be the case.  Symptoms with this type of injury or pain usually result in symptoms down into the shoulder, arm, or hands and fingers.

All of which have seen tremendous benefits from conservative management and chiropractic care.  Having a proper movement and orthopedic assessment and evaluation will help us determine the cause of the pinched nerve and the best course of action for reducing/eliminating your pain and providing you with the proper rehab and exercises to help with the compressed nerve. These can be sensitive injuries to work with and you need and deserve the best specialist to help you!

Aging/Disease/Lack of Movement

Growing older is a privilege, and we must grow and adapt with our bodies to take care of them through different stages of life. The onset of degenerative disorders have been better linked to our inactivity rather than wear and tear.  While there are a number of conditions that are seen commonly in our older populations such as Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, and Osteoarthritis, what you have to understand and know that you can stop the progression, improve your mobility, and drastically increase your strength allowing you to turn back the wheels on Father Time and physiologically feel younger than your biological age!  If you have been told or diagnosed with any of the above “aging” conditions please call us today and chat with one of our chiropractic specialists who can help redefine your future.

I came in looking for “just” a chiropractor because of neck pain training for a 10k swim, but Antonio offers so much more. I would almost compare my appointments to what I would hope a physical therapy appointment would look like, being treated with corrective exercises, manual therapy, and adjustments. Antonio is knowledgeable and he cares. I’ve made tremendous improvements in the last 3 months swimming, biking and feeling better as a whole. I recommend Antonio to anyone looking to move and feel better.

What Can Be Done to Help With Neck Pain?

If your job requires you to sit for long periods, try to stretch or walk around for a few minutes every 20-30 minutes to promote blood flow and reduce stiffness. Adjust desk chairs and computer monitors to the proper height for your body. Be observant of your posture and take note of any movements causing pain and to where the pain travels.

When possible, avoid unnecessary strain on your neck muscles by using a headset or speakerphone when using the telephone.

While being mindful of how you are using your neck at work it must be emphasized just as much if not more to improve your neck’s strength and mobility.

Far too often we are told not to do certain things to avoid certain movements or positions because of a possible increase in neck pain. But what is more common and will help with your neck pain more than anything is keeping a strong foundation through exercise, fitness, and movement.

At a baseline, you should be exercising and moving intentionally for a minimum of 30 minutes every day (outside of the movement you may or may not be doing at your job) and for 2-4 days a week, you should be participating in moderate exercise and resistance training that gets your heart rate elevated.

You can be mindful of your posture, protect and worry about how you are using your neck, and still end up with neck pain because of your inactivity.

After careful assessment of spinal alignment, range of motion, and potential stressors, LIVE LOUD doctors may use various methods including, but not limited to, manual manipulation, trigger point and muscle release techniques, dry needling, cupping, and other noninvasive techniques to reduce inflammation, relieve muscles spasms, and improve your mobility to allow you to continue moving while you are rehabbing and healing.
